We are the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What personal data we collect

• Identity & contact – name, email(s), phone number, address, date of birth, photo ID details (for certain regulated courses).
• Booking & training – course(s) booked, attendance, assessment results, certificates, reasonable adjustments, incident reports.
• Payment – payments are processed by Stripe; we receive confirmation, amount and status but not your full card details.
• Communication – emails you send us, support enquiries, employer or group booking details.
• Website/technical – basic analytics, IP address and device information via cookies (see Section 10).

3. Why we use your data (lawful bases)

• Contract – to take bookings, deliver training, issue results/certificates and communicate about your course.
• Legitimate interests – to improve our services, manage timetables and protect our learners and staff.
• Legal obligations – regulatory requirements (e.g., awarding bodies, SIA-linked training), accounting and tax.
• Consent – optional marketing communications; you can withdraw consent at any time.

4. How we use your data

• Process bookings and payments; send joining instructions and updates.
• Deliver training, assessments and certificates (including practical assessments where applicable).
• Support SIA or industry licence applications where you ask us to help.
• Respond to enquiries and provide learner support.

5. Sharing your data

We only share what’s necessary, with:

• Payment processor: Stripe (for secure payments). See Stripe’s Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.
• Awarding organisations/exam bodies (e.g., Pearson or others relevant to your qualification) for registration, quality assurance and certification.
• IT/service providers – email, hosting, analytics, secure document storage.
• Regulators or law enforcement when required by law.

6. International transfers

Some providers (e.g., Stripe) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep your data

• Bookings & finance records: typically 6 years (legal/accounting).
• Assessment & certification records: typically 3–6 years (as required by awarding bodies and quality assurance rules).
• General enquiries: up to 24 months, unless needed longer for a live matter.

8. Your rights

You have rights under UK GDPR, including:

• Access your data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion (where applicable).
• Restrict or object to certain processing; data portability; withdraw consent for marketing.
• Complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk.

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls, encryption in transit where applicable, and staff training.

Our courses are intended for adults. If an under-18 wishes to attend a course that allows it, we will obtain appropriate consent from a parent/guardian where required.
